My contractor applied one coat of the Valspar wet look sealer on my pavers. Should I apply a second coat? Do I seal them every year? Thsnks
A second coat of the Wet Look High Gloss Sealer can be applied if the first coat was absorbed into the surface easily. However, if the second coat is going to remain on the surface and not penetrate into the pavers then it can create some slickness on that surface.
Since this is a translucent coating with no pigment to provide UV protection an annual coating may be required depending on the pavers exposure to UV and the wear and tear they receive. We would recommend that you do a porosity test on the pavers first before applying additional coating. You can perform a porosity test on the concrete by simply dropping some water on the surface of the floor to see if it absorbs into the concrete or remains beaded on the surface.
